 PETE CASTLE

'a storyteller who sings many of his stories'

Picture by Zora Payne of Flying Donkeys, Derby

Pete has been a professional folk singer and storyteller for over 25 years-he gave up teaching to go 'on the road' in 1978. Since then he's played all over the UK and abroad in folk and storytelling clubs, arts centres, festivals, schools, libraries and at all kinds of exotic venues like ruined castles, caves, country parks and stately homes.

Pete works with both adults and children and enjoys family audiences.

He can do either songs or stories but is happiest when he can do a mixture of both-they work very well together.

Over the years Pete has been involved with several high profile community projects which have used Reminiscence to gather or make stories and songs to produce a finished work of art-a play, a radio programme, a CD or perhaps just a performance, to tell the story of a particular community or place. He'd definitely like to be involved with more of those.

Pete's repertoire is based on English traditional stories and songs with a few from further afield and his whole approach is pretty unique.

He has appeared on radio and TV and has recorded widely. CDs of stories and songs are available (see website address below).

He'd love to work with you! And you can afford him!!!
